ANTI-SMOKING CAMPAIGN: NOPE

Inspired by the intensity of the 2000s anti-tobacco movement, campaigns during that era left an indelible mark on my life. Television commercials, billboards, subway ads, and radio station PSAs were impossible to ignore. This project marked one of my first copy and design endeavors after a COVID-induced hiatus. Taking a cue from the advertising tactics of a major tobacco company in the 1980s, which targeted Black audiences, creating a flipped ad made perfect sense. Despite the shift from cigarettes to the compact descendant, the vape (now banned in several states), the concept remains intriguing.
